Karachi, Pakistan – Yango, the international ride-hailing service under the global Yango Group, has teamed up with Waada, a leading Insurtech company in Pakistan, to offer free Ride Insurance. This partnership provides one of the most comprehensive safety coverages in the country’s ride-hailing industry, offering enhanced protection to both passengers and drivers.
Through this collaboration, Waada delivers a wide-ranging accident insurance plan for all Yango users, covering passengers and drivers alike at no extra cost. The coverage includes everything from accidental damage to mobile phones during rides to serious incidents like permanent disability, medical expenses due to accidents, and accidental death. This makes Yango’s Ride Insurance the most extensive available in Pakistan. The insurance automatically activates on every trip, ensuring that each journey booked through Yango’s platform is safeguarded from start to finish.
Safety and Trust as Top Priorities
Miral Sharif, Yango’s Country Manager in Pakistan, highlighted the company’s strong focus on safety, saying, “Our top priority is ensuring that everyone feels safe during their Yango rides, and this insurance program reinforces our commitment. We are dedicated to making every ride not only convenient but also secure, further solidifying the trust our customers place in us.”

Waada’s CEO, Ishaq Kothawala, shared his enthusiasm for this groundbreaking initiative, stating, “I’m excited about this important step Waada and Yango have taken to enhance security and trust in the ride-hailing ecosystem. As one of Pakistan’s largest embedded insurance programs, I hope this sets the standard for future innovations.”
Transforming Ride-Hailing Safety Standards
This partnership between Yango and Waada marks a significant step forward in raising safety standards across Pakistan’s ride-hailing industry. By focusing on the security of both passengers and drivers, Yango ensures that everyone using the platform for their transportation needs enjoys full protection.
In addition to the insurance, Yango is also setting the bar with its in-app safety features. These include an SOS button for emergencies, real-time trip sharing via the “Share Route” feature, and an “Emergency Situation” button for quick assistance. Drivers can also see passengers’ ratings before accepting trips and share feedback post-ride to ensure a safe and respectful environment.
As Yango continues to seek ways to enhance safety in Pakistan’s ride-hailing sector, this partnership with Waada represents a key milestone in providing greater peace of mind for all users.
