EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW
Mubashir Hanif, Founder & CEO of TechMatter
Question 1: Please introduce yourself and tell us about your journey in the IT industry.
I’m Mubashir Hanif, Founder and CEO of TechMatter, a global health tech company headquartered in California with operations spanning the US, UK, UAE, and South Asia.
My path into technology wasn’t conventional. I started my career in 2009 at a Canadian BPO, selling calling cards. It wasn’t glamorous, but it taught me some of the most important lessons of my career. When you’re speaking with customers every day, you learn how to listen, how to earn trust, and how to solve problems in real time.
At the same time, I was pursuing my ACCA qualification, which gave me a strong grounding in finance and business operations. That combination of commercial exposure and financial discipline shaped how I look at organizations today.
Before founding TechMatter, I worked across sales and accounting roles. The common thread I kept seeing was that many organizations, particularly in healthcare, were operating with unnecessary complexity. Processes were fragmented, teams were spending too much time on administrative work, and technology often added to the problem instead of solving it.
Over time, I learned to separate signal from noise. Beneath all the operational challenges was a simple reality: organizations needed technology that solved business problems rather than creating new ones.
In 2017, I founded TechMatter with the idea that healthcare organizations needed more than another software vendor or outsourcing partner. They needed a technology-driven partner that understood operations, revenue, and growth as part of the same equation.
What began with a small team has grown into an organization of more than 600 professionals serving healthcare providers, institutions, and government agencies across multiple regions.
At its core, my journey has reinforced a belief I still hold today: technology creates value only when it solves real problems and helps organizations move the needle in a meaningful way. Everything we’ve built at TechMatter has been guided by that principle.
Question 2: What inspired you to establish TechMatter, and what vision drives the company today?
What inspired me to establish TechMatter was seeing the same challenge repeat itself across healthcare organizations. Clinicians were spending too much time on administrative work, practice managers were juggling disconnected systems, and revenue cycle teams were focused on fixing avoidable issues rather than driving performance.
The common thread was fragmentation. Technology, operations, and financial processes were often working in silos. As a result, providers were losing time, revenue, and opportunities to focus on patient care.
When I founded TechMatter in 2017, the vision was to help healthcare organizations work smarter by bringing technology, operations, and financial performance together under one roof.
Today, that vision remains the same. We deliver integrated solutions across three key areas:
- Proprietary Technology: EHR systems, practice management platforms, medical billing software, and AI-powered clinical tools developed in-house.
- Managed Services: Revenue Cycle Management (RCM), medical billing, credentialing, prior authorization, telehealth support, and managed IT services.
- Strategic Growth Initiatives: Through investments such as DoctorPapers and CureAR, we continue to strengthen our healthcare technology and RCM capabilities.
What drives us today is the belief that healthcare providers should be focused on delivering care, not navigating operational complexity.
Three principles continue to guide our direction:
- Integration Over Fragmentation: We believe technology and services create the greatest value when they work together as part of a unified ecosystem.
- AI with Purpose: We use AI to improve decision-making, automate repetitive processes, reduce denials, and help organizations become more proactive.
- Ethical Innovation: Every solution we develop is designed with compliance, transparency, patient privacy, and long-term trust in mind.
As we continue to grow, our focus remains on helping healthcare organizations operate more efficiently, scale with confidence, and create better experiences for both providers and patients.
Question 3: How is TechMatter helping businesses improve growth and operational efficiency through technology solutions?
One of the biggest challenges facing healthcare organizations today is complexity. Many providers are managing multiple systems, vendors, and workflows that don’t communicate effectively with one another. That creates inefficiencies, slows decision-making, and limits growth.
Our approach is built around solving that problem through integration.
Rather than offering standalone solutions, we bring together technology, operational expertise, and financial intelligence into a connected ecosystem. When those pieces work together, organizations gain visibility, efficiency, and the ability to scale more effectively.
A good example is a multi-specialty healthcare group that approached us with persistent claim denials, slow cash flow, and billing challenges. We implemented a combination of technology and workflow improvements, including:
- AI-powered claims scrubbing and denial prediction through CureAR.
- Intelligent encounter capture to improve coding accuracy.
- Automated compliance monitoring and decision support.
- Workflow optimization and staff training.
The result was a 35% reduction in claim denials and an 18% increase in patient payment completion rates.
We see similar outcomes in operational infrastructure. Through our managed IT services, healthcare organizations gain technology environments that support clinical and business objectives while maintaining compliance and security standards.
Another area where we create value is data visibility. Because our solutions are integrated, clients can identify bottlenecks, forecast performance more accurately, and make better operational decisions. In one case, a regional clinic network discovered that credentialing delays were slowing provider revenue generation. By addressing those workflow gaps, they reduced onboarding delays and accelerated time-to-revenue by 50%.
As organizations grow, complexity often grows with them. Our role is to help clients scale without adding unnecessary administrative burden. Whether it’s automation, analytics, revenue cycle management, or operational support, the objective is the same: create systems that allow organizations to focus their resources where they have the greatest impact.
At its core, growth is not about adding more tools. It’s about connecting the right capabilities in a way that moves the needle for the organization. That’s where we believe TechMatter creates the most value.
