Last year, WhatsApp launched food shopping in a small number of markets. This year, however, WhatsApp is rolling out a full-fledged online shopping experience with a new feature called Flows.

With Flows, you can shop online and even purchase things like train passes, dinners. And do more without ever leaving your WhatsApp conversation. As a result, WhatsApp Business accounts will be able to provide menus and forms that you can easily use to make purchases.

In the next weeks, WhatsApp plans to deliver Flows for businesses through its Business Platform, starting in India. Users in India will be able to add things to their shopping carts. Also they can make use of a variety of payment methods, including UPI, debit cards, and credit cards. Razorpay and PayU have partnered with WhatsApp to ensure the security of these transactions.

Additionally, a brand-new “Meta Verified” verification function is in the works. With this function, companies that can show their legitimacy are given a trust emblem. Benefits like a WhatsApp web page that is customisable and multi-device support are available to verified businesses.

It’s crucial to keep in mind that this feature is still being tested. And is not yet accessible through the Business Platform. Whether it ever makes it to Pakistan is likewise unknown. But given that everyone uses WhatsApp here, this would undoubtedly be a huge improvement for online buying in general.

In conclusion, WhatsApp is stepping up its online shopping game with the launch of the Flows feature, expanding beyond its initial food shopping offerings. Flows enables users to seamlessly shop for various items, including train passes and meals, all within the app, with WhatsApp Business accounts providing menus and forms for convenient purchasing.

Additionally, the “Meta Verified” verification feature is in development. It’s offering legitimate businesses trust emblems and enhanced features. While still in testing and not yet accessible through the Business Platform. This advancement could revolutionize online shopping. Particularly in regions like Pakistan where this app enjoys widespread use, offering a more integrated and user-friendly shopping experience.
