Telegram launches premium subscription model
Messaging app Telegram has launched its premium subscription for millions of users and the paid tier costs $4.99 / month
The premium model provides users with new and better features. One of the benefits of the paid tier is the increase in upload size to 4GB. The model allows the user to download the file faster as well.
It also has doubled limits for different features, including options to follow up to 1000 channels, add a fourth account instead of just three, create up to 20 chat folders with 200 chats each, pin 10 chats, and save up to 10 favorite stickers.
The premium package allows the user to have access to premium sticker collections, exclusive emoji reactions, and animated profile pictures. Moreover, it also has the option of voice-to-text conversation to make communication easier.
According to The Verge, for non-premium users, some of the new features will be available. Also, they can download larger files sent by the subscribers and the premium stickers and emojis.
In short, The subscription model will help the company collect revenue to improve the platform and expand it for all users.
