Islamabad, Pakistan – Standard Chartered Bank Pakistan (SCB) has introduced a new, customized IATA EASY PAY solution tailored specifically for Pakistan’s market needs. This enhanced solution simplifies BSP ticketing and payment processes, providing a seamless, efficient payment system for International Air Transport Association (IATA) agents across Pakistan.
Streamlined Payment Process for Travel Agents
Through SCB’s advanced open APIs and virtual account capabilities, IATA agents can now pre-fund their EASY PAY accounts to issue tickets and other air travel services. This streamlined process optimizes the entire transaction flow—from agent onboarding to airline settlements—boosting efficiency, transparency, and reducing credit risk. Additionally, it provides IATA agents with a valuable alternative payment channel, helping them manage transactions smoothly.
Improved Liquidity and Faster Settlements for Airlines
Airlines also benefit from faster settlement times, which improves liquidity and supports better cash flow management across the industry. Shiraz Hyder, SCB Pakistan’s Head of Transaction Banking, highlighted the bank’s commitment to delivering innovative digital financial solutions that enhance client operations. Meanwhile, IATA’s Country Manager for Pakistan, Feroze Jamall, expressed confidence in the positive impact this collaboration will have on the country’s travel sector.
To support the adoption of this new solution, SCB and IATA have organized awareness roadshows in major cities, including Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore. These events are designed to help IATA agents fully leverage the benefits of the IATA EASY PAY solution, empowering them to improve ticketing and payment processes efficiently.
This initiative reaffirms Standard Chartered’s dedication to leveraging digital solutions that support industry growth and operational ease, bolstering Pakistan’s dynamic air travel landscape.
