Superior University Research Week exemplifies the university’s dedication to academic achievement, innovation, and the critical link between academia and industry. Superior University’s Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) organizes the Research Week, which fits in with the larger institutional objective of strengthening industry-academia ties.
This year’s Research Week, held from October 21st to October 28th, 2023, aimed to cross borders by promoting collaboration. Moreover, nurturing new thinking, and tackling pressing societal and industry concerns.
Through its diverse approach comprising meetings, workshops, seminars, and panel discussions. The Research Week consciously connected with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
2698 participants, 23 joint projects, participation from 47 overseas speakers participated in the week and engagement from 16 national speakers. The cumulative impact of Research Week has been extraordinary.
It was notable because 28 business partners, 27 national higher education institutes attended this week. Furthermore, 13 international college institutes were all involved in this educational week.
The Research Week included 150 posters, 77 documentaries, eight discussion panels, seven colloquia, five seminars, six workshops. Furthermore, 14 talk sessions, a summit, eight training sessions, a tourist forum, and a policy dialogue was included in this week. These dynamic activities not only recognized current successes, but also planted the seeds for future collaborations and ground-breaking research.
The Faculty of Business and Management Sciences hosted the 14th International Conference on Management Research.
This year’s conference, themed ‘Sustainable Tourism Challenges and Opportunities for Pakistan,’ included four partnerships, four workshops, two seminars. Moreover, it included 218 paper demonstrations, 80 forums, 65 documentaries, five the opening speakers, and five industrialists, with a total of 516 participants.
The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences hosted the first International Medical Imaging Conference (MICON).
The first International Medical Imaging Conference (MICON), entitled “Recent Advances in Medical Imaging and the Integration of Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare,” signaled the beginning of a new age.
MICON, which focused on health imaging and artificial intelligence in healthcare. It drew luminaries from around the world, exhibiting innovation and collaboration. It featured 10 national speakers, three overseas speakers, 408 event participants. In addition, it included 150 poster exhibitions, four collaborators, and two sponsors, as well as a series of relevant workshops.
The Research Week was not limited to one campus. It extended its reach to Superior University campuses and partners from Lahore to Abbottabad, Rahim Yar Khan to Faisalabad. The week demonstrated the university’s dedication to inclusivity and information dissemination beyond boundaries.
The ‘Research Excellence Awards’ originated as a dynamic celebration of academic excellence. Also it became a revolutionary innovations through research during Research Week. This event, guided by the visionary leadership of Superior University’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Sumaira Rehman. It is a tribute to the university’s particular approach to recognizing and honoring scientific efforts.
Overall, Research Week 2023 was a meeting of minds, ideas, and innovation. The week highlighted the critical role of academia-industry partnerships in addressing national and global concerns. Moreover, it also highlighted contributing to sustainable development.
It not only recognized the achievements of the university, but it also served as a forum for new collaborations. The advancement of significant research in the field of higher education.
