The Pakistan Crypto Council is set to hold a high-stakes meeting on Monday, June 2, 2025, led by Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Muhammad Aurangzeb. This session marks a pivotal step in shaping the country’s crypto landscape and regulatory direction.
Minister of State and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Blockchain and Crypto, Bilal Bin Saqib, will attend in his role as CEO of the Pakistan Crypto Council. He will join senior representatives from key institutions, including the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), the Law & Justice Division, and the Ministry of IT & Telecommunication.
The Council will focus on developing a comprehensive legal and regulatory framework for digital currencies and virtual assets. A major item on the agenda is the proposed launch of the Pakistan Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (PVARA)—a dedicated body envisioned to supervise the crypto and digital finance ecosystem.
This meeting highlights the government’s commitment to fostering a secure, transparent, and innovation-friendly environment for blockchain adoption. By aligning with global standards, the Council aims to safeguard investors, boost financial inclusion, and build a future-ready digital economy.
