A restricted public preview of Microsoft Edge’s Workspaces functionality, which enables you to save and share collections of browser tabs using a single link, is now available. Workspaces was initially shown to us last year, but the new peek paints a much clearer picture of how everything functions.
Using Workspaces, you can compile a number of tabs on a specific subject and store them in Edge in orderly designated groups. Workspaces adds another layer of usefulness by allowing you to share these saved tabs with your coworkers, who can then add to or alter the tabs in real time. This may sound a lot like Edge’s Collections feature, which already lets you save and organise webpages.

The Workspaces tab is located in the top-left portion of the browser, as seen in the screenshot up top. When you click on it, you’ll be given the ability to create, name, and assign a colour to a workspace. After that, you may begin adding tabs to the workspace that are pertinent to your research. And, if you’d want, share it with anyone else who might want to see or add to your choice.
To do this, click the Invite button in Edge’s address bar, then click Copy link. The link can then be shared by email, Slack, or any other messaging platform. But, keep in mind that in order to access and edit your Workspaces, the recipient of the link will need to download Edge. When they accept the invitation, you’ll be able to view their symbol, name, and current tab within your Workspace. The Workspace icon in the upper-left corner of your browser allows you to view any previously established Workspaces as well.
When using your Workspace, Microsoft warns that it won’t divulge any private information. Which includes your passwords, downloads, collections, extensions, or cookies. Additionally, it won’t let anyone else see “website material that only you have access to,” like your email inbox. And it won’t let anyone else see anything you’re seeing outside of your Workspace.
