Edkasa, an exam preparation mobile app for young students of Pakistan has received pre-seed funding of $320,000. According to the team Edkasa, the mobile app will leverage the existing database of 55,000 students from 40 institutions across Pakistan to further extend their operations.

Since its beginning, the startup has supported thousands of students through video lectures and a dedicated Q/A section with teachers. According to the team, students have viewed 1.3 million hours of video lecture and teachers have answered 250,000 questions on the platform.

“The Edkasa app has been designed with feedback from Edkasa’s pre-existing user base, and is also aimed at countering the effects of school closure and an uncertain learning environment due to Covid-19,”  – Edkasa Team

The funding round was led by Invest 2 Innovate (i2i), the prominent investors in attendance were Walled City Co, Zayn Capital and other angel investors of the Southeast Asia region. The investment will be utilized to further develop the Edkasa platform to reach and benefit students across the countries.

Edkasa team is highly motivated to fill the gap of quality education and better exam performance for over 14 million secondary & higher secondary students.

“Education is the biggest bridge between the world that we have, and the world that we want,”said Annum Sadiq, co-founder of Edkasa along with Fahad Tanveer.

“Edkasa is a dream coming to fruition, as we prepare to educate millions of Pakistani learners.”
