LAHORE: In a major step toward transforming Pakistan’s agricultural landscape, Karandaaz Pakistan has teamed up with GrowTech, a pioneering AgriTech firm, to expand digital and financial services for smallholder farmers in Punjab. This strategic collaboration aims to drive the adoption of smart farming techniques and digital financial tools in underserved communities—boosting productivity, profitability, and resilience.
GrowTech will leverage its tech-driven platform to deliver vital advisory services, connect farmers with agri-markets, and link them to input suppliers in newly targeted regions. By doing so, the initiative aims to equip farmers with the tools they need to thrive in a rapidly evolving agricultural ecosystem.
Waqas-ul-Hasan, CEO of Karandaaz Pakistan, emphasized the transformative potential of the partnership, saying, “Our collaboration with GrowTech reflects our mission to integrate technology and finance into agriculture. We are reaching farmers both digitally and physically, enabling a more inclusive and climate-smart agri-economy.”
To strengthen on-ground support, the program will also establish farmer facilitation centres in two additional regions of Punjab. These hubs will offer face-to-face guidance, digital training, and capacity-building programs. Moreover, local leaders will participate in digital marketing and e-commerce workshops to encourage broader community engagement.
Additionally, the partnership will streamline agri-logistics by collaborating with local service providers. This will help ensure timely delivery of inputs and efficient market access—two critical factors in improving farm-level outcomes.
One of the standout innovations in the initiative is the pilot of electronic warehouse receipts, allowing farmers to store produce and access credit against it. This step will ease cash flow constraints during crucial phases of the agricultural cycle.
Furthermore, the initiative prioritizes gender inclusion by integrating livestock and health advisory services tailored specifically for female farmers, ensuring a deeper impact across rural communities.
Faisal Bilal, CEO of GrowTech, highlighted the broader vision, stating, “With Karandaaz, we’re using digital tools to empower smallholder farmers—especially women—expand rural market access, and create Pakistan’s leading platform for inclusive, sustainable, and tech-driven agriculture.”
Together, GrowTech and Karandaaz are not just transforming farming—they’re laying the groundwork for a more inclusive, innovative, and resilient agri-economy in Pakistan.
