In order to secure funds for the creation of e-Rozgar centers, the Ministry of IT and Telecom (MoIT&T) has contacted the Public Service Development Program (PSDP) and the Ignite National Technology Fund.

According to sources within the IT Ministry, the Planning Commission has received the PC-1 for the e-Rozgar centers project. Furthermore, the Ignite Board has also been contacted regarding funding permission.

The Ministry of IT and Telecom’s sources state that interest-free loans will be provided to building owners. And that e-employment centers will receive a 100% interest rate subsidy. A portion of the subsidy will come from PSDP, while the remainder will come from Ignite.

There are rumors that a win-win model that benefits building owners, banks, and freelancers alike has been developed for the creation of e-Rozgar centers. To start, 1,000 e-Rozgar centers will need to be established. It will cost 3 to 4 billion rupees.

Moreover, the organization in charge of carrying out the e-employment centers initiative would be the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB).

According to sources, after the previous prime minister Shehbaz Sharif unveiled a Rs. 5 billion fund for independent contractors and new businesses. It was agreed to alter PC-1 and use the money to build e-employment centers and startup companies. Modifications to the previous government’s PC-1 have been proposed in order to improve fund use.

According to sources, the Pakistan Software Export Board has all the information needed to set up these e-Rozgar centers, including hotspots for freelancers. Furthermore, the reach of e-Rozgar Centers will be expanded to include cantt areas. Where available buildings that are currently unoccupied will be included.

In conclusion, the Ministry of IT and Telecom is actively working to secure funding for e-Rozgar centers by engaging with PSDP and Ignite. A collaborative model is being pursued to support building owners, banks, and freelancers.

The initiative, led by the Pakistan Software Export Board, aims to establish 1,000 e-Rozgar centers at a cost of 3 to 4 billion rupees. Repurposing of funds from a previous government initiative is under consideration to further this effort. Marking a significant stride in enhancing Pakistan’s e-employment landscape.
