Caretaker IT Minister Dr. Umar Saif leads a Pakistani IT delegation at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, joined by P@SHA Chairman Zohaib Khan and representatives from SIFC.
Prime Minister Anwar Ul Haq Kakar delivered a keynote address on “trade tech’s trillion-dollar promise.”
Diplomatic meetings led by Umar Saif included discussions with the Secretary General of the DCO and Ministers from Qatar and Rwanda. Focus areas encompass collaborative initiatives like a startup fund across DCO countries and shared cloud services for AI infrastructure.
A crucial event on the agenda is the Digital Pakistan Breakfast, featuring Zohaib Khan as the keynote speaker. Furthermore, Minister Umar Saif is expected to provide insights into federal government and SIFC initiatives supporting the IT sector’s growth in Pakistan.
Beyond formalities, Swiss IT companies organized a dinner for Dr. Umar Saif, providing an informal setting for discussions on federal government and SIFC initiatives, fostering an enabling environment for Pakistan’s IT industry.
Simulataneously, the delegation emphasizes bilateral meetings with global representatives on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, showcasing SIFC’s progress, including the 50% dollar retention policy, activation of STZA, and the introduction of Pakistan’s First Space Policy.
Moreover, Chairman P@SHA, Zohaib Khan, optimistic about this historic participation, highlights P@SHA’s role in encouraging international collaboration and believes SIFC’s proactive steps will set the stage for a consistent federal policy framework for the IT sector.
