In a pioneering effort to promote financial inclusion and support smallholder farmers, Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited has teamed up with Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL). This strategic partnership, the first of its kind in the agricultural sector, aims to integrate farmers into the formal financial system while providing them with essential agricultural resources and innovative solutions to boost productivity and improve their livelihoods.
Mr. Asad Murad, Chief Operating Officer of Fatima Fertilizer, and Mr. Tahir Yaqoob Bhatti, President & CEO of ZTBL, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during a formal ceremony attended by senior officials from both organizations. This landmark agreement represents a significant advance in addressing Pakistan’s agricultural challenges while empowering smallholder farmers nationwide.
Mr. Murad emphasized the partnership’s importance, stating, “This MoU strengthens our mission to equip smallholder farmers with the tools they need to enhance productivity and contribute to Pakistan’s food security. Fatima Fertilizer’s representatives at the signing ceremony included Ms. Rabel Sadozai, Director of Marketing & Sales; Mr. Usman Arshad Mian, Head of Planning & Business Integration; Mr. Raja Shakir Khan, Manager of Planning & Business Integration; Mr. Hessan Amin, Lead for Digital Projects; and Mr. Abdullah Khalid, Assistant Manager of BI & Digitization.
In agreement, Mr. Bhatti highlighted ZTBL’s dedication to empowering farmers through financial inclusion. “This partnership with Fatima Fertilizer will provide smallholder farmers with the agricultural inputs they need and offer them the financial support to grow and thrive,” he stated.
ZTBL was represented by Mr. Zahid Hussain, Group Head of Business; Mr. Sulman A. Shah, Head of Product Development & Liability Management Division; and Mr. Arshad Hassan Awan, Head of Credit Division.
