According to Profit by Pakistan Today, digital healthcare startup – Ailaj has announced that it raised $1.6 million in seed funding. The seed funding round was sponsored by JS Group and was attended by Fazal Din Group, Leonine Tech Ventures, and private equity investors from East Asia.

The healthcare startup was founded by the same people who acquired AugmentCare and Sehat.com.pk. Augmentcare had already raised $1 million in funding. Today, Ailaaj is one of the biggest online healthcare platforms in Pakistan and offers medical consultancy to patients through doctors from Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). The platform also helps to provide customized healthcare plans to patients and also deals in medicine delivery.
“It’s a holistic, 360-degree platform for any patient in their disease continuum and also the patient journey, it’s patient-centric, and we take your burdens off of you. You don’t need to be taking your lab tests or reports with you. Everything is centralized. All you need to do is pick up the phone, everything else is going to be taken care of.”
He also added that the pharmacy will cater to any health-related questions and will help patients understand their prescriptions and take care of any reactions that may occur after taking drugs.
“Sehat and Augmentcare had clear synergies from before by being positioned as well-reputed healthcare startups (epharmacy and telemedicine, respectively) in Pakistan’s burgeoning ecosystem,” said Bilal Mumtaz, co-founder of Ailaaj.
