Deutsche Telekom Highlights Extensive Global Enterprise Network

The German market leader Deutsche Telekom has coupled private 5G with hyperscale cloud infrastructure to provide centralized control of global enterprise networks. In its current state, it is a proof-of-concept (PoC) that was completed in association with Amazon Web Services (AWS), VMware, Mavenir, and the Open Grid Alliance (OGA).

They connected a Mavenir 5G core located on an AWS cloud in Frankfurt to two private 5G standalone (SA) networks. One in Prague, Czechia, and the other in Seattle, the United States—using the backbone architecture of AWS.

The worldwide network’s orchestrator is VMware’s Service Management and Orchestration (SMO) technology. Which is also housed in Seattle and powers the Seattle 5G network.

In order to provide streamlined communication across the European locations, an OGA grid node was installed on Dell systems in Bonn, Germany. OGA is an industry-wide initiative that makes it possible for edge computation and storage resources to be intelligently and automatically coordinated.

Its goal is to redesign the Internet into an extensively dispersed grid network with as much processing and storage taking place at the edge as is practical.

A single interface for acquiring, deploying, and maintaining carrier-grade connections. Also acquiring cloud services across numerous locations is the end consequence of all this heavy lifting.

Large international corporations that want to keep track of or even automate activities. And processes across multiple nations may find this appealing. By extension, it creates a potentially profitable opportunity for businesses. The ones who have the necessary capabilities to deliver these kinds of services. These servies including telcos, cloud service providers. Moreover other services like IT service providers, and systems integrators.

Deutsche Telekom and its partners set up cameras in Seattle and Prague and connected them to the global enterprise network to launch an AI-enabled video analytics solution. The application was able to analyze the camera feeds simultaneously and in real time once it was up and running.

Furthermore the program was able to analyze the camera feeds simultaneously and in real time once it was up and running. Deutsche Telekom said that autonomous vehicles and robotics may be integrated with its worldwide enterprise network.

As AI becomes more pervasive in our daily lives. It demands that everyone worldwide have equitable access to computing and internet. According to Kaniz Mahdi, group chief architect and senior vice president of technology architecture and innovation at Deutsche Telekom, multinational organizations are looking for trustworthy and sovereign compute. And also looking for connectivity constructions that support an equitable and seamless access.

VMware is happy to contribute expertise and a cutting-edge, scalable platform to this proof-of-concept. They are hoping to provide the agility needed in distributed environments. Wherever essential client workloads are required.

Moreover the VMware Telco Cloud Platform is well-suited to supply the computing resources on demand, according to Stephen Spellicy. He is the vice president of VMware’s service provider marketing, enablement, and business development.

As a founding member of the Open Grid Alliance, VMware supports both the initiative’s ideals. Also the chance to work more closely with AWS and Deutsche Telekom. In order to fulfill the changing needs of international enterprise customers.

Since this is only a proof of concept, there is probably still a long way to go before such services are offered on a commercial scale. Nevertheless, it offers an intriguing preview of a future where workplace networking will be increasingly integrated.
