The Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Estate Wing in Islamabad has introduced an automated system to simplify property transfers. Previously, the process involved multiple directorates, leading to complications for citizens.
Under the previous semi-automated system, citizens had to physically visit the one-window directorate to obtain transfer forms and appointment dates. The new method, however, enables landlords to book appointments online from the convenience of their homes.
Efficiency and Tracking
The old system often caused delays in obtaining No Objection Certificates (NOCs) from relevant directorates, with files often neglected due to the absence of a tracking system. In contrast, the new system assigns a unique number to each case, facilitating tracking and record-keeping for citizens.
Simplified Process and Remote Tracking
Previously, citizens had to visit various directorates in person. However, the new system eliminates the need for physical visits, as applicants can now track their applications remotely.
Enhanced Security and Verification
Authorized users can enter property information during the transfer procedure using the new system. That is creating a backup for future reference. It is also linked with NADRA for identity verification, capturing photos and thumb impressions that can be instantly verified.
Reduced Waiting Time for Allotment Letters
Previously, citizens had to wait extended periods to receive their allotment letters even after completing the transfer process. The new system allows authorized users to enter property details during the transfer process.
Commitment to Modernization and Security
Member Estate CDA, Afnan Alam Khan, has confirmed the launch of the new system. He emphasized the authority’s dedication to modernizing outdated mechanisms. And promoting efficiency and responsibility of the new system. Efforts are also underway to introduce new transfer letters with enhanced security features to prevent the issuance of fake letters.
Preventing Scams and Improving Transparency
CDA has experienced several scams involving fake files, backdating, and bogus allotments in the past. The implementation of the new automated system aims to enhance transparency and prevent fraudulent activities. Furthermore, safeguarding the interests of citizens. And ensuring the integrity of property transfers through the CDA’s one-window directorate.
