The warning urges drivers to use caution when heading to flood-affected areas on highways and motorways, according to details.
Additionally, PTA and NHMP’s initiative will make the general public aware of the need to refrain from certain activities. Such as unnecessary travel in areas where flood warnings have been issued.
According to officials, the number of fatalities caused by extensive flooding in the nation has surpassed 1,000 since mid-June. Nearly 120 people have died in the past day as a result of flooding. According to data given by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
Floods have destroyed over 150 bridges since June 14. Almost 3,451 kilometers of roads have been completely destroyed or only partially affected.
According to its most recent “Monsoon 2022 Daily Situation Report No. 74,” Pakistan’s National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) confirmed 158 monsoon-related fatalities nationwide on August 25. This brings the total number since June 14 to roughly 2,438.
Between August 24 and 25, there were 45 fatalities and 113 injuries. While since the season started on June 14 overall, there have been 1,456 injuries and 982 fatalities.
