Unity Foods demonstrates a strong commitment to ESG principles by partnering with The Green Ark (TGA). Through a signed MoU, TGA will collect and transform Unity Foods’ scrap materials into a diverse array of recycled products for reuse. This initiative aims to enhance the circular economy, reducing the impact of single-use plastics on global ecosystems.

Unity Foods regularly undertakes long-term projects that align with its goals of minimizing the environmental impact of conventional industrial practices. In this current partnership with The Green Ark, a leading provider of recycling solutions, Unity Foods will ensure the traceability of its packaging waste while showcasing a robust commitment to a greener environment and contributing to the circular economy. With more than 13,000 kilograms of waste each month, including items like garbage debris, oily pouches, plastic jerry cans, tin scraps, plastic bags, and cardboard cartons, a significant amount of material will be recycled, preventing it from ending up in landfills or incinerators that harm nature.

“Global warming is a present and potent threat, especially for Pakistan, which, despite producing a negligible level of greenhouse gases, faces severe consequences from this global phenomenon. At Unity Foods, we always aim to set a precedent, particularly with our ESG practices that underscore our commitment to ensuring our children can inherit a safe and healthy planet. This partnership with The Green Ark is another step in this direction, and we plan to continue launching similar initiatives in the future,” commented Ms. Nageen Rizvi, Head of Corporate Communications & Sustainability at Unity Foods, during the signing ceremony.

Mr. Habib Elahi, CEO of The Green Ark, added, “We dedicate ourselves to reducing the carbon footprint by recycling waste into resin and building materials like pavers and tiles made from end-of-cycle plastic waste. This strategic partnership with Unity Foods ensures that we responsibly recycle the generated waste, adding value to the circular economy.”
