Methodology
The rankings of companies on the 2023 Inc. 5000 are determined based on the percentage revenue growth observed from 2019 to 2022. To be eligible for inclusion, companies must have established and generated revenue by March 31, 2019. They must be privately held, for-profit entities based in the United States while also operating independently, without being subsidiaries or divisions of other companies, as of December 31, 2022.
Furthermore, some listed companies may have undergone public offerings or acquisitions since the evaluation period. The specified criteria include a minimum revenue requirement of $100,000 for 2019 and a minimum of $2 million for 2022. Hence, Inc. reserves the right to decline applicants for subjective reasons and calculates growth rates to four decimal places to determine company rankings.
