A well-known leaker claims that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is ready to reach even greater heights after the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 offered significant performance improvements and improved efficiency. The new version of Qualcomm’s flagship platform is expected to feature a redesigned CPU significantly faster clock rates.
One primary Cortex-X4 CPU core for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is said to operate at an unheard-of 3.7 GHz. Along with five potent cores for performance and two smaller cores for efficiency.
Qualcomm Technologies Inc. created and sells the Snapdragon line of system on a chip (SoC) semiconductor components for mobile smartphones. The central processor unit (CPU) of the Snapdragon is built using the ARM architecture.
To support a smartphone’s GPS, camera, video, audio, gesture recognition, and AI acceleration, a single SoC may include multiple CPU cores, an Adreno graphics processing unit (GPU), a Snapdragon wireless modem, a Hexagon digital signal processor (DSP), a Qualcomm Spectra image signal processor (ISP), and other software and hardware.
The forthcoming chip’s model number is SM8650, and according to Chinese tip source Digital Chat Station, its GPU will go by the moniker Adreno 750. According to reports, TSMC will continue to produce the device, switching from the N4 to the N4P node, which provides a minor efficiency boost while retaining the 4nm process technology.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is believed to include six powerful Cortex-X4 CPU cores, five powerful cores for performance. Furthermore, two lesser cores for efficiency, and one major Cortex-X4 CPU core that runs at an unheard-of 3.7 GHz.
The upcoming chip has the product number SM8650. And Chinese tip source Digital Chat Station claims that its GPU will be known as Adreno 750. The device will reportedly still be produced by TSMC. But the company will convert from the N4 to the N4P node. Which offers a slight efficiency improvement while maintaining the 4nm process technology.
The following Qualcomm flagship, however, is not anticipated to be released until the end of the year. Because the chipmaker normally releases its top-tier SoC in late November or early December. Xiaomi and Motorola are expected to be the first Chinese phone manufacturers to use the rumored Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.
