Sharleen Ansari was honored and humbled to be part of the inaugural launch of the HERLegacy Ambassadors Campaign, organized by IBA Advancement and Alumni Affairs. The event was a power-packed Saturday afternoon filled with stories of resilience, empowerment, and inspiration shared by exceptional women.

She extended her heartfelt appreciation to Malahat Awan and Rabeea Yousuf for spearheading the HERLegacy initiative—an impactful movement with the potential to drive lasting change. Sharleen expressed gratitude for the opportunity and congratulated the team on the successful launch of the campaign.
Being chosen alongside a group of remarkable role models was a privilege for Sharleen, but what truly moved her were the real-life stories of three courageous students—Ekta, Aleena Abbas, and Samina Kanwal. Their journeys of resilience and determination in overcoming barriers to pursue education left a profound impact on her. She described them as her heroes of the day and applauded their strength in breaking glass ceilings to wear their graduation with pride and independence.
Reflecting on the importance of education, Sharleen emphasized that the first word revealed in the Qur’an was “اقْرَأْ” (Iqra’), meaning “Read” or “Recite,” underscoring the value of knowledge for all, irrespective of gender. Quoting Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), she reinforced that “Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim,” and highlighted that educated women are pivotal in shaping informed families, stronger economies, and socially stable communities.
Quoting Muhammad Ali Jinnah—“Without education, it is complete darkness; with education, it is light”—Sharleen reaffirmed her commitment to giving back to society by empowering women through mentorship and advocacy. She pledged to support and uplift women to the fullest of her capacity and looked forward to working closely with the IBA team and fellow HERLegacy ambassadors to serve as change agents.
Sharleen concluded by encouraging everyone to support the HERLegacy Campaign and contribute to turning possibilities into realities. She believes that together, we can light the path for the next generation of empowered women and build a brighter, more inclusive future for Pakistan.
