Reddit will soon be launching two separate feeds for text and videos.
The videos will be available in the Watch feed view section, whereas the text-based posts will be in the Read Feed.
Users will be able to view the video posts from their subscribed channels and other recommended options.
The reason behind introducing the video style feed is the gaining popularity of this medium. Moreover, it is an attempt to make the platform easier to use for a wider audience. The platform will continue introducing more video-related features after the initial launch.
The new feature is in the testing phase and will soon be rolled out for the users.
Reddit is an American social news aggregation, content rating, and discussion website. Registered users submit content to the site such as links, text posts, images, and videos, which are then voted up or down by other members. Posts are organized by subject into user-created boards called “communities” or “subreddits”. Submissions with more upvotes appear towards the top of their subreddit and, if they receive enough upvotes, ultimately on the site’s front page. Reddit administrators moderate the communities. Moderation is also conducted by community-specific moderators, who are not Reddit employees.
