Dibsy, a leading payment solutions provider, has teamed up with QNB, the largest financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, to launch a groundbreaking Visa Click to Pay experience for retailers across Qatar. This partnership delivers the first-ever global implementation of Click to Pay with biometric authentication, setting a new standard for secure, seamless online payments. Recognizing the innovation and leadership behind this solution, Visa honored QNB and Dibsy at an award ceremony attended by top executives from all three organizations.
Streamlined Checkout with Advanced Security Features
With the Click to Pay logo appearing on participating websites, consumers can complete purchases more conveniently—without needing to enter lengthy 16-digit card numbers, passwords, or fill out forms. By choosing Visa’s Click to Pay where available, users gain access to advanced security features, including device binding and biometric authentication, for safe transactions. This upgraded Click to Pay service, originally launched by Visa several years ago, leverages EMVCo tokenization to eliminate passwords and one-time codes, offering a faster, more secure, and unified shopping experience.
“At Dibsy, we’re revolutionizing online checkout by making it quicker, simpler, and more secure,” said Dibsy’s Co-founder and CTO, Anouar El Mekki. “The integration of Visa Click to Pay into our platform minimizes friction that can lead to cart abandonment, ultimately increasing conversion rates and driving revenue growth for our merchants. Our partnership with QNB and Visa underlines our dedication to delivering smooth, innovative payment solutions.”
QNB’s Commitment to Innovation in Digital Payments
Adel Ali Al Malki, Senior Executive Vice President of Group Retail Banking at QNB, echoed this enthusiasm: “As a major financial institution in the Middle East and Africa, we’re committed to empowering our merchants and partners with cutting-edge solutions to expand payment acceptance. Launching this enhanced Click to Pay with biometric authentication marks a significant step forward in our collaboration with Visa and Dibsy.”
The GCC region, particularly Qatar, has seen a rapid shift towards cashless payments, with e-commerce transactions on the Visa network growing by 200% in the past four years. This trend underscores the demand for secure and efficient digital payment options. Shashank Singh, Visa’s VP and General Manager for Qatar and Kuwait, emphasized Visa’s commitment to enhancing digital payments: “Our streamlined digital checkout solution reduces cart abandonment and integrates with multiple card brands. This partnership not only advances innovation but also significantly contributes to Qatar’s National Vision 2030 of a knowledge-based digital economy.”
