In a landmark initiative to modernize financial transactions across Pakistan’s public sector, the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), MCB Bank, and Mastercard have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to digitize payments.
PITB ADG Khurram Mushtaq and MCB Bank Group Head Shahzad Ishaq inked the agreement, marking a pivotal move towards improving the efficiency, transparency, and security of online payments to government and private institutions nationwide.
Key officials attending the signing ceremony included PITB Project Director Haroon Rasul Khokhar, Joint Directors Syed Ijlal Hussain and Shehzad Mehmood, SPM Aamir Ali Khan, PM Umer Saleem, and PR Executive Omar Akhtar. From MCB Bank, Head of Payment Solutions Imran Yousaf, Group Head of Operations Kashif Ali, Division Head of Operations Abdul Jawad Khan, Unit Head of e-Commerce Saba Afzal, Relationship Manager of e-Commerce Ali Nasim, Department Head of Marketing Humaid Merchant, and Manager Marketing Najaf Zahra were also present.
Moreover, this strategic partnership aims to enhance the accessibility and user-friendliness of payment processes for Pakistani citizens. PITB’s PayZen will serve as the primary interface for both government and private payments, ensuring a streamlined and transparent process. The collaboration will play a significant role in Pakistan’s digital transformation efforts, enhancing the security and efficiency of financial transactions.
