Dellsons Associates, a Pakistani company, has partnered with the Nepal Internet Foundation to bolster the freelancing ecosystem in Nepal. This collaboration aims to establish a nationwide association, conduct capacity-building programs, and organize conferences for freelancers.
In Nepal, approximately 20.8 percent of the population falls in the age group of 16–25 years, with 40.68 percent in the 16–40 age bracket. This highlights the significant proportion of young people in the country.
Chairman of Dellsons Group, Ibrahim Amin, highlighted their extensive experience in supporting freelancers in Pakistan through collaborations with various stakeholders such as commercial banks, broadband internet providers, and universities. Simultaneously, he expressed enthusiasm about sharing this expertise with Nepal.
Bikram Shrestha, President of Nepal Internet Foundation, emphasized the importance of internet accessibility for economic growth. Furthermore, he stressed their commitment to introducing essential trends in Nepal and acknowledged the potential for Nepali youth to contribute to the national economy through global freelancing platforms.
In addition to forming a freelancers’ association, Dellsons Group plans to collaborate with public and private sector corporations to promote the digital economy and establish remittance channels between Nepal and other countries.
CEO of Dellsons Group, Tufail Ahmed Khan, noted the rising prominence of freelancing in South Asian economies and stressed the need for representation and advocacy for freelancers’ rights at a national level. Moreover, he highlighted Dellsons’ successful establishment of the Pakistan Freelancers Association (PAFLA) and their commitment to building a similar platform for Nepali freelancers.
