The National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) announced the experimental launch of its digital account service on Friday, allowing clients to register accounts online from anywhere in Pakistan.
According to NBP, the newly launched service will be accessible through the NBP Digital App. It is part of the bank’s commitment to provide innovative and easy banking solutions to its customers.
The Customers’ Digital Onboarding Framework (CDOF), is a regulatory program by the State Bank of Pakistan. To support digital banking in the country, is associated with NBP’s digital account service.
Customers will benefit from NBP’s Digital Account Opening Services. Which conforms with the Customers’ Digital Onboarding Framework (CDOF). NBP intends to continually extend the range of services offered through this digital platform as part of the bank’s commitment to improving client convenience.
Customers who register a digital account will have access to a variety of perks and services. The services include cash transfers, paying invoices, mobile top-ups, and e-commerce transactions, according to NBP.
He further added, “The announcement of the availability of the Digital Account service represents a big step in this direction. Enabling consumers to bank with ease, safety, and convenience. We are committed to providing exceptional services in the field of digital banking. And this is only the beginning of our path toward a more digitally inclusive future.”
At a ceremony on Friday, NBP President and CEO Rehmat Ali Hasnie activated his digital account. He said the service’s opening was a significant step toward a more technologically inclusive future.
