MICO World Limited, a social media firm, has registered with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) under the “Unlawful Online Content Removal and Blocking (Procedure, Oversight, and Safeguards) Rules, 2021.”
MICO World Limited is the creator of a social media platform that is interactive. The firm runs an intelligent social media platform. It links individuals from all over the world based on their interests and profiles. Thus, resulting in an engaged community where users may freely converse.
PTA has registered MICO World Limited, a Hong Kong-based corporation, as a Significant Social Media Company (SSMC) under Rule 7 (6) of the Removal. As well as Blocking of Unlawful Online Content (Procedure, Oversight, and Safeguards) Rules 2021.
The SSMC had submitted an application under the guidelines for the registration of two applications, MICO and YoHo, which the Authority had accepted. In addition, representatives from the IT firm attended the event at PTA headquarters and finished the registration procedure.
Furthermore, After Joyo Technology Pakistan Pvt Ltd (Snack Video) and BIGO Service Pakistan Pvt Ltd. MICO World Limited is the third firm to register with the PTA (BIGO Live, Likee).
“The registration of a third firm demonstrates PTA’s commitment to pursuing the government’s goal of digital Pakistan. In order to enable the country’s digital economy to thrive,” the regulator said in a statement.
