The Islamabad Information Technology Park is all set to open on August 14, introducing a dedicated space designed to accelerate Pakistan’s digital transformation. According to a Ministry of IT official, the park will serve as a dynamic hub for tech startups, freelancers, and export-focused software companies.
Spanning 66,893 square meters, the facility includes two basements, a ground floor, and nine upper floors. It will feature 120 office spaces tailored for IT and ITeS (IT-enabled services) companies, as well as a startup incubation centre with 15 dedicated offices.
Moreover, the park will include a business support centre offering legal, marketing, and financial advisory services—essential tools for scaling startups. Another major component is the industry-academia linkage centre, which aims to bridge the gap between educational institutions and the tech sector by fostering collaboration.
A standout feature of the park is Pakistan’s first Tier III Data Centre, which ensures uninterrupted power and high-level data security. “This state-of-the-art facility meets global standards and significantly advances Pakistan’s IT infrastructure,” said the official.
By enhancing cooperation among academia, researchers, industry leaders, and policymakers, the Islamabad IT Park is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the country’s digital economy. Additionally, plans are underway for a similar facility near Karachi’s airport, further expanding the nation’s tech landscape.
