Islamabad International Airport has officially been declared a fully digital payment-enabled facility, with JazzCash recognized for leading the airport’s transition to a completely cashless ecosystem.
The initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Pakistan Airports Authority and the State Bank of Pakistan, represents a major milestone in modernizing the payment infrastructure at one of Pakistan’s key national gateways, aligning with the Prime Minister’s Cashless Economy initiative.
As part of this transformation, interoperable QR-based payment acceptance has been implemented across passenger service counters, parking, and retail outlets. The upgrade also includes the deployment of smart payment devices, such as Soundbox solutions, providing real-time transaction confirmations.
This new infrastructure allows passengers to pay fees and charges digitally, significantly reducing queue times, minimizing cash handling, and enhancing transparency and operational efficiency across airport services.
