1. What strategies have helped you scale and expand your Product?
Over the years, I’ve developed a straightforward approach to scaling. Here’s what has worked for me:
Staying Ahead of the Curve For me, it all starts with staying informed. I keep a close eye on global and local trends, and I’m always looking for ways to adjust my strategy to stay ahead of the curve. This approach has helped me anticipate changes in the market and make informed decisions.
Experimentation and Innovation I’m a big believer in the power of experimentation and innovation. By investing in research and development, and being willing to try new things, I’ve been able to stay ahead of the competition and attract new customers.
Starting Small and Iterating When it comes to launching new products or services, I always start with a minimum viable product (MVP). I test it with a small group of customers, gather feedback, and then iterate on my offering. This approach has helped me reduce costs, validate my products, and make data-driven decisions.
2. What are the biggest trends in fintech and banking that professionals should be aware of?
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is already a must-have for all industries, so I won’t discuss that. Instead, I want to highlight two other trends that I believe will be game-changers in the fintech world.
Open Banking Open Banking allows you to safely share your financial information with trusted apps and services. This means you can easily access and manage your money, get personalized financial advice, and enjoy more convenient payment options. It’s like having a personal financial assistant, making your life easier and your finances more manageable.
Neobanking Neobanking is a new way of banking that’s entirely digital. Neobanks are online-only banks that offer a range of benefits, including lower fees, easier account management, and greater accessibility. This means anyone with a smartphone can open an account and start banking, no matter where they are. Global projections of customers on Neobanking by 2026 are estimated to be more than 360 million. The Central Bank of Pakistan has also issued licenses to five entities to start their Neobanking operations in Pakistan.
Leveraging these two trends, I’m really looking forward to the rise of super apps! Imagine one app connecting all banks through open APIs. Just think about it – no more switching between multiple banking apps, no more tedious logins, and no more hassle of keeping track of multiple accounts. With super apps, you’ll have a seamless, intuitive, and highly secure experience that makes managing your finances a breeze.
3. If you could give one piece of advice to the next generation of leaders, what would it be?
Prioritize Learning Over Financial Gain In the early stages of your career, I would advise focusing on acquiring knowledge, skills, and experience. While financial stability is important, it’s essential to prioritize learning and growth over immediate financial gains. Invest in yourself, and the rewards will follow.
Stay Focused on Your Goals and Avoid Shortcuts Stay true to your aspirations. It’s easy to get distracted by quick fixes or shortcuts. Instead, focus on putting in the effort required to achieve your goals. The sense of accomplishment and pride you’ll feel will be far more valuable than any temporary gains.
