Elon Musk recently tweeted on his hiring of Twitter’s first female CEO, who will take up residence in the position in six weeks. Although the incoming CEO’s identity has not yet been made public, sources claim that Linda Yaccarino, Head of Advertising at NBCUniversal, is the most likely candidate to take over Twitter once Musk assumes the positions of Executive Chairman and Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
The specifics state that Musk will oversee “product, software, and sysops.” It is important to note that Musk acquired Twitter for $44 billion and then rose to the position of CEO. He declared in December that he would leave his position as CEO once he found “someone foolish enough” to accept the offer.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Yaccarino and Musk are negotiating for the top job. The likelihood that Elon Musk will choose Yaccarino for this role has also been confirmed by a Silicon Valley official.
In December of last year, Musk also posted a poll on Twitter, in which 57.5% of participants said they wanted him to leave his position as CEO of the microblogging platform. The first two weeks of Musk’s ownership of Twitter in October 2022 were extremely chaotic. The former CEO of Twitter, Parag Agrawal, and other senior executives were immediately sacked, and in November, he let go of half of the workforce.
