dLocal, a leading cross-border payments platform for emerging markets, is expanding its strategic partnership with inDrive, a global mobility and urban services provider. This enhanced collaboration will streamline payment solutions for inDrive’s drivers in over 20 countries across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, with a special focus on boosting financial inclusion in challenging markets like Pakistan. Reliable wallet top-up options and efficient fund repatriation are essential for inDrive drivers, especially in a market where accessible financial services are limited.
Expanding Global Reach with Tailored Payment Solutions
Originally launched in 2021, this partnership offers tailored payment solutions to inDrive’s broad user base across emerging regions. As demand for alternative payment methods (APMs) continues to rise, dLocal’s expanded initiative provides drivers with instant access to wallet top-ups. In Pakistan, drivers can now use popular local payment services such as EasyPaisa and JazzCash. Other initiatives are underway, including collaborations with Yape in Peru, QRIS in Indonesia, and local platforms in Colombia, allowing seamless in-app funding aligned with each market’s needs.
Addressing Financial Inclusion Challenges in High-Potential Markets
Ride-hailing drivers face unique challenges in economies with high numbers of unbanked individuals. For example, in Pakistan, around 100 million adults lack formal banking services, according to the World Bank. The dLocal and inDrive alliance tackles these challenges by offering real-time payment notifications and reliable top-up options, critical for drivers who frequently transact and rely on quick access to earnings. This is particularly impactful for drivers transacting over ten times a day, as immediate fund access directly affects their daily earnings.
Enhancing Driver Empowerment through Seamless Payment Solutions
“Our partnership with dLocal strengthens the support we provide for inDrive drivers, especially in underserved markets like Pakistan,” said Vasiliy Everstov, Head of Fintech at inDrive. “Instant access to funds and a secure payment infrastructure not only empowers our drivers but also enhances their work experience.”
Building a Financially Inclusive Future for Emerging Markets
Diego Halegua, Head of Account Management EMEA at dLocal, echoed this vision: “Our partnership with inDrive represents a transformative step for the mobility sector in emerging markets. By providing localized payment solutions, we’re advancing financial inclusion and reshaping how drivers manage and access their earnings.”
This strengthened alliance between dLocal and inDrive continues to drive the evolution of the ride-hailing experience, focusing on the unique financial needs of emerging markets and building a smoother, more accessible payment ecosystem for drivers worldwide.
