Daraz has officially announced its partnership with the Pakistan Olympic Association to boost the Olympians who are representing Pakistan in the Olympics 2020. The partnership is part of the 12-year deal that Ali baba (Daraz’s parent company) has with the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Through this agreement, Daraz aims to bring together e-commerce and the sports industry in Pakistan.

Moreover, Daraz also wishes to contribute by providing its support to individual local National Olympic Committee’s to help uplift their spirits across the South Asian countries where it is present. The Founder and CEO of Daraz, Bjarke Mikkelsen, spoke at the occasion saying that the partnership will not only help to boost the spirits of the Olympians but also that of the local people of South Asia.
Muhammad Khalid Mahmood, the Secretary-General of Pakistan Olympic Association, said,
“We appreciate the start of a new beginning. Alibaba is a Top Partner of the International Olympic Committee and Daraz is looking after the interest of Alibaba in Pakistan. We are happy to join hands with an IOC Top Partner and initiate sponsorship for the Pakistani athletes. This partnership will encourage the national athletes particularly and Olympic Movement inspire others to come forward too.”
Through this initiative Daraz also plans to inspire the locals and tell them the stories of their athletes – hence the concept of “Delivering Dreams”.
