Event Overview
The CXO Global Forum held its Islamabad Meetup on 26th September 2024 at the National Incubation Center, where top leaders gathered to discuss the rapidly evolving Digital Infrastructure of Pakistan. The event drew over 40 C-level executives, fostering collaboration and insight into the challenges and opportunities in the country’s digital transformation.
Keynote Insights on Digital Transformation

The keynote address was delivered by Javaid Iqbal, a Member of the Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA), who highlighted the critical role of technology zones in accelerating Pakistan’s digital economy. In his keynote, Iqbal emphasized the transformative impact of digital services on convenience and accessibility. He shared a personal experience from 2015, recalling how impressed he was when an Uber arrived quickly after booking online and how surprised he was at a friend’s choice to pay digitally instead of using cash. This story illustrates the importance of embracing technological advancements and investing in digital infrastructure to enhance user experiences.
Iqbal also recounted an experience from a conference where he attended a session led by African leaders discussing improvements in digital infrastructure. He noted that while Pakistan’s digital landscape has made significant strides compared to certain African and European countries, there remains much work to be done. This comparison underscores the need for continuous effort and collaboration to enhance digital services in Pakistan. The moral of this experience is clear: leveraging global best practices and fostering local innovation are vital to propelling Pakistan’s digital transformation forward.
