How do you see Technology is changing our Lives?
Intrusion of technology in human lives is nothing new. It is there from old ages when humankind civilization started to build. Right from developing tools to constructing yacht of Noah. In one or other shape technology has always been there in human life and evolving as the humanity evolved. So there is no life without technology. When it comes to Information Technology, it has greatly impacted the productivity and capability of human living in 21st century. Today there is no discipline of life where IT is not playing its role. From information systems and communication to healthcare and daily life.
As a COO & Director HR you must be facing challenges in hiring skilled human resource; how do you see the Industry Academia gap?
Rightly said there are challenges of getting ready-to-work fresh graduates and that indicates that there is a huge gap in industry-academia correlation. Our Academia is moving in its own direction being aloof to what is required in industry. Globally in developed countries, world’s top universities work closely with industry and bringing in innovation for industry growth but in Pakistan, there is one institution called HEC, they only focus on old school publication thought processes. For them industry and academia are entirely different domains. And that is the reason at Innovador Solutions we have more than 80% developers who acquired skills from Aptech. I truly believe that we should have wide network of Aptech like quality training institutes in the country so that industry may get ready-to-work HR.
You have more than 25 years of experience of working in financial institution, what do you think what is the future of Fintech in Pakistan?
Well! The future of Fintech in Pakistan I believe is very bright. Keeping in mind the huge number of un-banked population of Pakistan and need of access to finances on the move opens lots of opportunities for Fintech. The only thing is to tap the right audience. However, there are challenges too that our society is mostly cash-first society and there is serious mistrust on digital currency transfers and payments, so the society needs to be educated and trained. There are few steps that should be taken to support fintech revolution; 1- is financial literacy should be taught in schools and universities and that can be done through dedicated courses or by integrating financial concepts into existing subjects. 2- the government must focus on creating a supportive ecosystem that addresses regulatory challenges, incentivize fintech startups, Mobile payment expansion etc.
