Apple has confirmed that the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max have overheating problems. The tech giant claimed that contrary to original speculation, neither the titanium frame of the new phones nor the revised system architecture were to blame for the issue.

Instead, Apple blamed the overheating on a mix of iOS 17 faults, problems with specific apps. They further blamed a brief setup time that made the phones run hotter than normal.

Users’ complaints about the newest iPhone 15 models will be addressed by Apple through a software update. Furthermore, Apple guarantees that the patch won’t impair the iPhone’s functionality.

In a statement, Apple stated that “We noticed a few settings that may cause the iPhone to run warmer than expected.Due to increased background activity, the device may feel warmer in the first few days after setup or restoration.”

Apple further explained, “Additionally, we have found an iOS 17 bug that is affecting some customers. And it will be fixed in a future software update. Recent changes to third-party programs are another problem that overloads the system. Together, we are working on the patches that are presently being released for this app.”

Many consumers started griping on Apple’s forums, Reddit, and social media platforms. Shortly after the company unveiled the new iPhone 15 Pro models that the expensive versions were overheating during use.

According to Ming-Chi Kuo, an Apple analyst at TF International Securities, any overheating problems were probably caused by “compromises” in the phone’s design as the company sought to make it lighter.

According to Apple, recent changes were made to some third-party iOS 17 apps, including Instagram, Asphalt 9, and Uber. These changes may be the result in the devices “running warmer than normal.” The company is working with other developers to implement enhancements. In response, Instagram updated its app and did so on September 27.

According to Apple, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max are compatible with any USB-C adapter that adheres to the USB-C standard, including USB Power Delivery.

The manufacturer stated that because the iPhone limits charging to a maximum of 27W. By using a 20W or higher charger may cause the phone to momentarily get warmer. The iPhone may feel warm during initial setup, restoration from a backup, or wireless charging, according to Apple’s support page.

While Apple had traditionally used stainless steel for its high-end phones. The iPhone 15 Pro models have a titanium frame. Significant upgrades to both new models include a new A17 Pro chip created using TSMC’s 3nm manufacturing process, USB-C connectivity, and a zoom lens.
